Opening the Hutch

  1. Press the Photons OFF button.
  2. Press the door release button while opening the door

Closing the Hutch

  1. Closing the hutch door automatically interlocks the hutch
  2. Press the Photons On button to allow light into the hutch

Note: The detector and collimator will not move unless the hutch door is closed.

To interlock the hutch, first ensure that no one else is inside the hutch. Press the black "Confirm Search" button inside the hutch. Exit the hutch and close the hutch door. Push the "Lock Door " button on the outside of the hutch. At this point the warning siren should start and continue for 15 seconds. The shutter switch can now be opened and the PSS can now be opened.

To open the hutch, click the "Open Hutch" button in BOS. Toggle the silver shutter switch to "off", and then push the "Unlock Door " button outside the hutch.The hutch door can now be opened.

You should never be inside the hutch when the warning siren goes on and lights inside the hutch go off. However, in the event that this does happen you should hit the red emergency button located inside the hutch immediately.

Data collection is done on the control machine for each beamline:

Data processing is done on the linux boxes for each beamline. These machines are generally named "k#" where # can be from 1 to 4. For example, b1821k2. For these machines, each user group will be assigned a unique login name.
